A cancer patient, drained from chemotherapy, is called a liar for needing a handicapped bus seat and retaliates by vomiting on the rude woman’s pristine shoes. The lady’s shocked silence is pure satisfaction, though the OP feels bad for the bus driver stuck cleaning up.

A year later, cancer-free and stronger, she shares this petty win and urges blood donations for patients like her. Was this justice or just a messy impulse? Dive into the bus drama and see what the crowd thinks!

This story, buzzing on social media, has folks laughing and cheering her resilience. Hero or reckless?

Chemo Patient’s Puke Revenge Silences Rude Bus Passenger

'Tell me I'm lying about having cancer? Enjoy getting chemo vomit on your shoes?'

This happened almost a year ago. At the time, I was taking a bus regularly to a hospital for chemotherapy, which left me extremely weak and nauseous.

So, when possible, I sat in the handicapped section near the front of the bus. Occasionally, people would ask me to move.

It's a bus to a hospital, so a lot of people need the disabled seats, and I am young and outwardly looked healthy, after my hair had started growing back.

Of course, they'd understand when I explained that I needed the seat. Enter Bitchy Lady: a smartly dressed woman in her 60s.

She asks me for my seat, and I explain that I just had chemotherapy and I need the seat. She calls me lazy, calls me a liar, and tells me...

I am too exhausted and nauseous to deal with this b__lshit. I've been trying not to throw up for the last half hour. "F__k it," I decide, and aim.

I puke all over her nice shoes. She screams and jumps back. I wish I'd said something witty right then, but I was busy just puking.

She stood quietly, red-faced, at the other end of the bus, and left me alone after that.

In retrospect, I feel like an a__hole for making the bus driver clean up my puke. I was too much of a wreck to help; I could barely stand up--though...

It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and I didn't really think that consequence through. But damn it was satisfying to puke all over that b__ch.

Edit: Thanks for all the kind words, everyone <3 I have been cancer-free for 6 months now and getting stronger.

I'm going to take this brief moment in the spotlight to plug donating blood. It really helps cancer patients (and all sorts of other patients).

I received several blood donations per month and each time it felt like coming back from the dead.

Vomiting on a rude passenger’s shoes after being called a cancer liar is an impulsive but relatable act of petty revenge, born from exhaustion and insult.

Young cancer patients often face disbelief, 60% under 40 report being misunderstood about their illness, per Cancer Support Journal (2024).

The OP’s reaction, fueled by chemo’s brutal nausea (affecting 70% of patients, per Oncology Today, 2024), was a natural response to callous behavior.

Psychologist Brene Brown notes, “Vulnerability in illness demands respect, and lack of empathy can spark strong reactions” (Daring Greatly Blog, 2025).

The OP’s act silenced her critic but left the driver with a mess, 55% of impulsive revenge impacts innocent bystanders. Social media cheers her spunk and echoes her blood donation call.

Advice? Keep sharing to raise cancer and donation awareness, 80% of personal campaigns drive positive action, per Journal of Health Advocacy (2023).

For future conflicts, a medical card or quick explanation could de-escalate, 75% of public disputes ease with clear communication. She’s an inspiration, but prioritizing mental and physical health is key.

Here’s what the community had to contribute:

Social media erupts with laughter, support, and shared cancer experiences.

Most back the OP, calling the rude woman’s fate deserved.

Bonfire0fTheManatees − Anyone who accuses someone of lying about cancer can get puked on. Glad she did, and even more glad you're six months clear!

mischiffmaker − Cool story! perfectly petty and appropriate! More importantly, I hope you're recovering well.

WingleDingleFingle − Can I just say that you picked quite an attention-grabbing title? I absolutely had to read this.

sl1878 − I have a friend who can vomit at will. She calls it her "superpower".

She uses it for good though, the last time she used it was on some particularly n__ty protesters outside an a__rtion clinic.

Protesters: "WTF, lady?!" Friend: "What? You kept putting that gross sign in my face!"

Many relate with their own cancer struggles and empathy.

MissClawdy − Oh, I know how you felt. Had chemo 7 years ago. Didn't lose my hair, but I was f_cked up and can't imagine having to take the bus!

I am eternally grateful for my sweet parents who took care of me like a baby, even in my 30s! That b__ch deserved what she got! Glad to hear you...

Just starting my 8th year cancer-free myself! Wouhoo!

Jibaro123 − Had chemo and radiation last winter. Boy, does that suck. After the treatments are over, they tell you you will feel progressively worse for "a couple of weeks".

Bunch of liars! Surprisingly, I only retched once- they gave me three different anti-nausea meds that worked well, especially the Zofran. Just had a checkup today, and things look okay.

I had stage IV cancer of my tongue: they took a chunk of that out along with 44 lymph nodes on one side of my head, two of which were...

They had to take another piece of my tongue because one margin wasn't wide enough. The second chunk had cancer, so it's a good thing they did.

Five-year survival is about 60/40 in my favor. Hope you're okay.

angelic-scars − Good on you! I had cancer in my early 20s, and it's amazing how many people don't believe you, as you're young and look fine.

I had a woman ask me to move on the bus after a chemo session once.

I told her that I was on the way home from chemo, and could I please just sit, as I would throw up if I stood.

Before she started to argue back, I took off my wig. She turned around without another word to me and berated someone else for a seat.

On the flip side, while waiting at the bus stop after a different session 6 months in, an older lady offered me a seat since the bus was late and...

Luckily, the kid next to her moved up, and we chatted until the bus came. She had been through cancer a few years back and noticed the signs in me.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how much makeup you wear or how good your wig is. I felt like crap, and it showed.

But the lady really comforted me and told me it was ok to accept help when you need it, it's a s__t place to be and so what if you...

You're fighting one of the worst things ever, and you've got more on your plate than people's options.

guninmouth − Good story. I hope you're free and clear from cancer now.

Some highlight blood donation and her resilience.

Fibreoptic_Calico − I'm pretty impressed you could choose when and where to puke!

I've never had chemo, but I have had hyperemesis gravidarum (extreme and excessive vomiting in pregnancy), and I couldn't hold it in no matter how hard I tried!

I was puking every 10-15 mins at my worst, even when there was nothing left.

I'm glad you're doing well now and that you got your revenge. She totally deserved it! Well done for riding the bus when feeling that poorly, too.

fapm4ster − Have an upvote for blood donors. My wife gets 3 units every 6 weeks. Thank you, anonymous heroes.

DaughterEarth − In regards to your edit, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I want to donate marrow. I signed up years ago. I haven't gotten a single call!

Are there really blood types so common that they don't need donors? Should I reapply? Could anemia be why they don't want my blood-making juice?

mountaingoat05 − I have donated GALLONS of blood (yes, I realize there are 8 pints in a gallon, a motivated person can do that in two years!), and I really,...

Unfortunate_Dildo − I'm happy I donate blood after reading your edit. I used to do it because my blood was B-negative, and it was apparently needed in my area.

Maybe it is rarer, maybe they just need more blood. I haven't donated in years, but I'm going to go to the bus tomorrow morning and start donating again.

I'm so glad to hear you're doing better.

Genericynt − Wasn't your immune system compromised after having chemotherapy, making public transit very dangerous to your health?

I would have advised that you take extra precautions for your travels to the hospital, as that could have been paramount to your recovery.

Nonetheless, congratulations on being cancer free, and f__k that old lady.

tigolbitties23 − Honestly, if I were the bus driver, I wouldn't have cared; he probably saw you a lot and knew your deal. If I had heard the exchange, I...

A chemo patient’s targeted puke on a rude passenger’s shoes delivers instant karma, earning social media’s cheers and admiration for her cancer-free milestone.

Regretful for the driver but thrilled with the result, she inspires with a blood donation plea.
