What is a better destination to visit during the holidays than Disney theme parks? And February is a fantastic month to visit Walt Disney World. The weather is getting warmer, hotels are offering discounts and the parks have no seasonal decorations. Especially, that visiting Disney World this year is quite different from going to in previous years.
Though the Disneyland Resort in 2022 is rather quiet at the moment, with no major openings or announcements, there are a few things to look forward to. Walt Disney World has changed significantly, and you must be prepared for a wonderful visit to Disney theme parks.
We’ll give a short brief of what is different. So, get out your calendars and mark these dates down for all of the exciting events coming to Disney World in February.
#1 Feb. 3 – Turf Club Bar and Grill Reopens
The Turf Club Bar and Grill at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa reopened on 3 February. With the reopening, a new menu was introduced with the New York Cider-braised Mussels appetizer flavored with garlic, chorizo, fennel, Fresno chili, and apple cider topped with a grilled baguette, the Grilled Pork Chop, Braised Lamb Tagliatelle, and the New York Cheesecake.
#2 Feb. 6 – Keys to the Kingdom Returns
On February 6, 2022, the all-time popular tour “Keys to the Kingdom” will return to the Magic Kingdom! Uncover the hidden secrets and access the famed underground “Utilidor” tunnels. A 5-hour walking tour to discover the creation and remarkable growth of one of Walt Disney World Resort’s most cherished parks!
#3 Feb. 6 – Souk-al-Magreb Reopens
The souvenir shop Souk-al-Magreb at EPCOT’s Morocco Pavilion was closed for renovations. The Morocco Pavilion was taken over by Disney in late 2020, and the Aladdin goods shop reopened on February 6. The interior design of the gift store, as well as the contents of the gift shop, will be changed to suit the new offerings.
#4 Feb. 6 – Animal Kingdom Tours Resume
Tours available in Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also return, including Caring for Giants, The Wild Africa Trek, Up Close with Rhinos, and Savor the Savanna. These tours are ideal for anybody interested in learning more about animals, as well as Disney fans who have visited the parks several times. Regardless of your age, these trips will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on you.
#5 Feb. 11 – New Cavalcade debuts
At Magic Kingdom, the world’s largest cavalcade has recently launched. As part of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary festivities, the new cavalcade welcomes some common figures to Magic Kingdom, such as: Merida, Moana, The Incredibles, as well as Miguel from “Coco,”…
#6 Feb 11 – Frontierland Hoedown Returns
The Frontierland Hoedown Happening will return to Magic Kingdom. It features many Disney characters and cast members dancing in the streets at random intervals. The experience will be altered to allow for social distancing, but no specifics have been revealed.
#7 Feb. 17 – Jiko Reopens
Jiko – The Cooking Place, located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will return on February 17 with African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisines. The Seafood Tagine, is loaded with prawns, scallops, squid, and Littleneck clams. Dark chocolate mousse, pistachio financier, pink peppercorn meringue, are some must-try dishes for cake fans.
#8 Feb. 24-27 – Ultimate Princess Weekend
The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend includes races for people of all abilities, as well as coveted royal medals and Disney entertainment. On February 25, a 5K will be held, followed by a 10K on February 26 and a half-marathon on February 27.
#9 Feb. 25 – Magic Kingdom Stage Show Returns
The stage act at Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage is a fan-favorite show. This year, “Mickey‘s Magical Friendship Faire” will premiere on February 25 with a new opening and ending showcasing Mickey Mouse and his pals dressed in shimmering, EARidescent attire. The show also includes scenes from “Frozen,” “Tangled,” and “The Princess and the Frog.
