Amazon MGM is bringing together a star-studded cast for their upcoming sheep detective comedy, Three Bags Full. The film will feature Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, and Hong Chau.
Tosin Cole, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Conleth Hill, and Mandeep Dhillon are also set to join the cast of Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie.
The live-action comedy revolves around a shepherd (played by Jackman) who dies under mysterious circumstances, prompting his flock of sheep to take on the role of detective to solve the case.
The synopsis adds: “The local cop Tim Derry (Braun) has never solved a serious crime in his life, so the sheep conclude they will have to solve it themselves, even if it means leaving their meadow for the first time and facing the complexities of the human world.”
The screenplay, written by Craig Mazin (known for Chernobyl and The Last of Us), is based on Leonie Swann’s bestseller of the same name. Kyle Balda, the director behind Minions, will helm the project.
Producers for the film include Lindsay Doran, along with Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. Executive producers are Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Aditya Sood, and Tim Wellspring.
Principal photography for Three Bags Full has already begun, and Amazon plans to release the film exclusively in theaters worldwide on February 20, 2026.
