Barbarian-based director Zach Cregger combines with Josh Brolin to put a project together in what should already serve as a heads-up.
Fresh off Dune: Part Two, Brolin is in the spotlight right away and does not mince his words when he says he appreciates Cregger for his intensive preparations being done to work on their horror-thriller, ‘Weapons.’ With a great cast and story sewn well, Brolin feels genuinely excited about what is to follow.
Josh Brolin Shows Dedication to “Weapons” Script
Renowned for his exceptional voice-over and motion capture work as Thanos throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Josh Brolin brings with him a portfolio of blockbusters that would pique the interest of any project and captivate a wide audience.
In an interview with Collider, Brolin revealed his excitement upon reading the script for his upcoming feature with director Zach Cregger, titled “Weapons.”
“There’s a lot of really good people involved. This was one of the few times when I finally went, ‘Okay, let’s do this.’ — and I think I was avoiding work anyway, just generally — when I said, ‘Yes, let’s do this,’ my choice just felt better and better and better and better with each following day. I’m super excited about doing this. We are doing it in May, June, July, and I just talked with him yesterday. I’m serious when I say I think it’s a really brilliant design of a script. Brilliant.”
After having a set of interactions with Brolin and subsequently sending over the script at his request, the famed actor was hopeful about being directed by Cregger, who is relatively new in the scene.
The film is written by Cregger and Jud Cremata, and its ensemble cast also includes Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, and more.
While no apparent details of the plot have been disclosed, “Weapons” is supposed to be a multi-layered horror epic with mystery and thriller genres that thrives on the mysterious disappearance of teenagers from a small town.
Josh Brolin’s Return to Deadpool & Wolverine Uncertain
Josh Brolin, who played two of the greatest villains in the franchise, Thanos and Cable, has people talking about his involvement in a bigger, more sprawling Deadpool and Wolverine cinematic universe.
Yeah, every well-meaning but largely unnecessary word that comes out of his mouth in Inherent Vice and every single stilted moment he broods as Thanos holds up even better for it like the IMDb credit wasn’t enough to get one excited. Brolin himself, for his part, lets it out through The Playlist (via Unilad):
“Am I?” Brolin said. “Yeeeesssss! I so wanted to be in that movie,” he continued, later adding about his MCU work: “I really liked doing that role. That was a lot of fun,” even as he’s now getting some big-time notice for his turns in Dune: Part Two and the streaming show Outer Range.
