Smith and Lawrence immediately seem reluctant to let him go, with the latter trying to explain to him in broken Spanish: “Wrong casa.”
Smith then chimes in: “Yeah, they live down there… bad boys is at the other… thing.”
The door is then shut in Messi’s face before Lawrence says: “Mucho gusto.” The little skit ends there.
Messi’s little cameo is brief, but it’s enough to send the Internet into a frenzy. Messi is arguably the best soccer player on the planet, and is said to have a rather disclosed life, so it’s a surprise for everyone that he appears in the movie‘s promo. However, this advertising campaign makes sense, since the forward is currently living in Miami with his family, where the filming of Bad Boys 4 takes place.
Fans were left wanting more, but many were happy to see him finally speak some English, even though he only blurts out two words. Although one user noted that “even the English sounds like Spanish”.
