The upcoming Bad Boys 4 features a surprise guest for their fans in Miami, and he’s none other than the Inter Miami player himself, Lionel Messi. Not only that, the Argentinian even gives fans another treat by speaking English out loud – a thing he almost never has done before.
For the Bad Boys: Ride or Die’s promo video, Messi shows his funny side after ringing in on Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, the main stars of the action-comedy franchise. Let’s check the hilarious footage below:
The Inter Miami star asks: “Bad boys?”
Smith and Lawrence immediately seem reluctant to let him go, with the latter trying to explain to him in broken Spanish: “Wrong casa.”
Smith then chimes in: “Yeah, they live down there… bad boys is at the other… thing.”
The door is then shut in Messi’s face before Lawrence says: “Mucho gusto.” The little skit ends there.
Messi’s little cameo is brief, but it’s enough to send the Internet into a frenzy. Messi is arguably the best soccer player on the planet, and is said to have a rather disclosed life, so it’s a surprise for everyone that he appears in the movie‘s promo. However, this advertising campaign makes sense, since the forward is currently living in Miami with his family, where the filming of Bad Boys 4 takes place.
Fans were left wanting more, but many were happy to see him finally speak some English, even though he only blurts out two words. Although one user noted that “even the English sounds like Spanish”.
‘This is the first time in my life I’ve heard Messi speak English,’ one person wrote on X.
‘Messi going to the MLS might be one of the best decisions he made,’ another fan joked, ‘They should give Messi the Oscar already.’
With the return of directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Bad Boys: Ride or Die is set to continue the high-octane adventures of Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) as they strive to vindicate themselves and honor their late captain.
The last film, Bad Boys For Life, was a commercial success despite the pandemic, making the next movie even more anticipated.Other side characters, such as Armando (Jacob Scipio), will also return in the fourth installment.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die will hit theaters this June 7, promising another high-speed and action-comedy-packed extravaganza for fans.
