It’s almost the end of October 2022 – the time for us to check the newest Forbes 400 (The Forbes 400 or 400 Richest Americans is a list published by Forbes magazine of the wealthiest 400 American citizens who own assets in the U.S., ranked by net worth).
The pandemic is over, though plenty of companies have been affected. Furthermore, the Russian-Ukraine war impacts the worldwide economy tremendously. Plus, several surprising colossal purchases went on, such as Elon Musk bought Twitter. The money’s flow is unpredictable, and time changes vastly quickly.

#1. Elon Musk – Austin, Texas

With a net worth of up to $251 B, Elon Musk is the wealthiest American businessman in 2022. He co-founded six companies including electric car maker Tesla, rocket producer SpaceX and tunneling startup Boring Company. The 51-year-old billionaire is reported to live in his Austin Lake mansion, though he denies it and says he lives in a smaller residence at Brownsville.

Larry Ellison is chairman, chief technology officer, and co-founder of software giant Oracle, of which he owns about 35%. He is the fourth wealthiest American man with $101B. Oracle billionaire co-founder bought Lana’i in 2012 and moved there during the pandemic.

Known as the “Oracle of Omaha,” Warren Buffett is one of the most successful investors of all time. His net worth is $97B. For six decades, Buffett has lived in the same residence in the central Dundee neighborhood of Omaha, Neb.

Larry Page stepped down as CEO of Alphabet, the parent of Google, in December 2019 but remains a board member and a controlling shareholder. He is rated sixth with a net worth of $93B. His villa caught on fire on September 2021.

He cofounded Google with Larry Page in 1998. He is reportedly funding a high-tech airship project on Alphabet’s moonshot research lab X. In his Los Altos Hill mansion, there are 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and a large swimming pool in the well-looked-after garden, however, very few pictures exist as he is notoriously private!
