Summary:
- Transformers One release date shifted to September 20th.
- Paramount launches trailer from space in Hollywood first.
- Star-studded voice cast revealed; film explores Transformers origin story.
Paramount Pictures and Hasbro have shifted the release date for their highly anticipated animated film Transformers One.
Originally slated for September 13, 2024, the movie will now premiere on September 20th. This strategic move allows the film to capitalize on IMAX screens and avoid a box office clash with Sony’s Beetlejuice sequel.
To mark the occasion, Paramount unveiled a new trailer for Transformers One in a spectacular fashion – a first for Hollywood! The trailer was launched literally from space. A livestream began at 6 AM PT, showcasing a countdown and the craft’s journey into the cosmos.
After reaching a peak altitude of 125,000 feet, the trailer debuted along with a special introductory video featuring the voices of Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry.
The voice cast boasts a lineup of A-listers, including Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm, alongside Hemsworth and Henry.
This groundbreaking fully CG-animated film delves into the Transformers’ origin story, exploring the untold tale of how Optimus Prime (originally Orion Pax, voiced by Hemsworth) and Megatron (voiced by Henry) were once the closest of friends.
The movie will explore the events that ultimately caused their falling out and forever altered the fate of their home planet, Cybertron.
Theater owners were treated to a special preview of the trailer at CinemaCon last week. Hemsworth and Henry also presented the movie’s first 3D scene, further amping up the excitement for this epic saga.
