The much-anticipated “Tron: Ares” is ramping up its production, and fans just got a fresh glimpse of Jared Leto’s character, Ares, from the set in Vancouver.
A recent video shared on X shows Leto, dressed in his full Tron costume but without his helmet, giving us a clear look at his character’s facial features. Some sort of scratches and battle scars were also seen on his body. Check the footage out below:

As expected, the buzz around this sneak peek has skyrocketed through social media, as Disney fans have waited over a decade for the next Tron title. While the clip captured doesn’t show an active filming scene, it does provide a behind-the-scenes look at Leto in his character’s attire, hinting at some intense action that Ares might have faced.
Tron: Ares” is set to continue the legacy of the groundbreaking 1982 “Tron” and its 2010 sequel, “Tron: Legacy. Directed by Joachim Rønning and penned by Jesse Wigutow along with Jack Thorne, the movie boasts an impressive cast including Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, and Gillian Anderson. Jared Leto, of course, is the main star of the show.
This third installment follows not only the two previous films but also a brief animated stint, “Tron: Uprising”, which aired on Disney XD, and various video games inspired by the Tron universe. A short film, “Tron: The Next Day”, was also released in 2011, linking back to “Tron: Legacy“‘ events
Initially, fans got a formal introduction to Leto’s character Ares back in February when an image was posted online showing him in a glowing suit complete with a helmet, showing his back to the audience. Following his voice role as the Hatbox Ghost in last year’s “Haunted Mansion“, Leto’s return in Tron: Ares, though many Disney fans are skeptical about his appearance as the main character.
Previously, Leto was heavily criticized for his portrayals in “Suicide Squad” as the Joker and in “Morbius,” so fans have a reason to worry if he’s going to take the lead role in Tron” Ares.
