Get ready horror fans, the killer wedding night movie Ready or Not might be getting a sequel!
Directorial team Radio Silence, consisting of Tyler Gillett, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, and Chad Villella, have been working on a script for Ready or Not 2 since 2019.
According to the directors, the sequel’s script is an “absolute f—ing banger.” They’re incredibly enthusiastic about the project and eager to see it come to life.
“It’s getting figured out,” Gillett tells EW after a prolonged pause. “That’s what we’ll say: Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out. What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute f—ing banger of a sequel. And however it gets made, and in whatever capacity we are helping get it made, we are so excited that it’s happening. That movie is truly the love of our creative lives in a lot of ways.”
While there were earlier reports of Samara Weaving (Grace) returning and Adam Robitel directing, this interview suggests those details might have changed.
It seems there was some confusion about the sequel’s development stage. Radio Silence clarifies that a script already exists, and they’re actively involved in the process of getting it made.
While Radio Silence expresses optimism, the project still awaits official approval.
In the mean time, their new film, Abigail, arrives in theaters this weekend. This horror thriller with a dash of Ready or Not vibes might hold you over until news about the sequel.
