Why Would Moon Knight Have 2 Distinct Outfits?

Mr. Knight, the MCU’s newest vigilante hero, is given a second suit and identity in Marvel’s new Moon Knight. With Moon Knight episode 2, the veil has begun to lift on what’s going on and the other personality who takes possession of Steven Grant’s body. He not only learns more about Marc Spector and his position as Moon Knight, but he also witnesses the emergence of Mr. Knight, another of Moon Knight’s alter egos.

Steven Grant is still shaken up from the late-night events at the museum when he is assaulted by a magical jackal called Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke), the current incarnation of the Egyptian goddess Ammit. Marc Spector gained possession of the body and became Moon Knight, the chosen avatar of the moon deity Khonshu; after surrendering to his image, Steven sees it in the mirror.

Steven immediately returns to his bed, adamant that he would never again relinquish Marc control of their combined body. New clashes with Harrow and his supporters, on the other hand, persuade Steven to change his mind, allowing Marc to reclaim his position as the chief alter.

However, the typical appearance of Moon Knight in the episode was preceded by the unexpected arrival of Mr. Knight, an alternative version of Khonshu’s Fist. Mr. Knight, who wears a white business suit and a mask, has a more restrained role in the comics, whereas Moon Knight is the more violent instrument of justice.

On the other hand, the new MCU version has a whole different take on the character. Here’s everything we know about Mr. Knight thus far and how his abilities relate to those of the original Moon Knight.

Mr. Knight is a fictional character. Second Superhero Outfit for Moon Knight

The three-piece business suit outfit for Marc Spector was initially merely a new costume design for Moon Knight that enabled him to be more covert without a massive hood and cape, created in 2011 by Warren Ellis and Michael Lark (as secretive as one can be wearing an all-white suit). However, in 2014, the Moon Knight book was relaunched, with the new style becoming Mr. Knight’s alter ego.

Mr. Knight became a more public character who interacts with folks in need and authorities who provide him access to crime sites. While the old Moon Knight was all about jumping over roofs and ultimate revenge, Mr. Knight became a more public persona. Mr. Knight is the investigative side of the Dark Knight if Moon Knight is Marvel‘s Batman (as he’s sometimes referred to).

Mr. Knight also heads the Midnight Mission as Khonshu’s High Priest in the current Moon Knight series by Jed Mackay and Allessandro Cappuccio, meeting with individuals who seek Moon Knight’s services. Mr. Knight, on the other hand, can still hold his own in a battle when the occasion demands it.

What Makes Steven Become Mr. Knight? (And Not Marc).

null
While Mr. Knight and Moon Knight are both alters accessible by Marc in the comics, the MCU takes a different approach. Marc Spector suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder and is the first person to be offered more alters by Khonshu. In Marvel’s Moon Knight series, Steven Grant is the first alter that viewers have encountered.

While Marc had been trying to keep Grant in the dark about him and his position as Khonshu’s avatar, something has changed now that Steven has been drawn into Moon Knight’s battle with Harrow. Steven summoned the power of Khonshu himself in Moon Knight episode 2 before handing control over to Marc.

null
Steven imagined a white business outfit with a mask because he had never seen Khonshu’s ritual armor. As a result, the MCU version has given Mr. Knight a fresh start by transforming him into Grant’s vigilante character.

Steven Grant, Marc’s alter ego, was a socialite millionaire who funded Moon Knight’s missions and equipment in the comics. However, the MCU has drastically changed his position, with Steven having no knowledge of Marc’s existence until the beginning of this series and working at a gift store.

null
Compared to the comics, the inclusion of Mr. Knight as an alter that appears to belong to Steven is by far the most significant adjustment made to Moon Knight. The new modification does make sense in several ways. In the comics, Steven Grant was the public face of Moon Knight, a job that was later returned to Marc with the appearance of Mr. Knight.

Essentially, the MCU has amalgamated two characters that generally performed the same functions, thereby giving Grant a more significant part in the series while also simplifying things for audiences: Moon Knight is Marc, and Mr. Knight is Steven.

Mr. Knight’s Powers are Reviewed and Described

null
Steven’s Mr. Knight looks to have the same ability and talents as Moon Knight himself. He certainly possesses superhuman strength gifted to him by the exiled deity Khonshu, ripping off the bumper of a car and sending a new jackal flying with one blow.

Mr. Knight also wields his legendary comic-book truncheons, which are essential clubs. However, they can be converted into nunchucks and include a grappling hook; it’s unclear whether they’ll have the same features in the MCU as they do on the page.

null
Steven is significantly more confident now than before, thanks to his new power and clothing. He even takes off his new jacket and rolls up his sleeves to fight the jackal head-on, a subliminal allusion to Mr. Knight’s epic battle in Moon Knight #5 in 2014, in which he single-handedly took out an apartment complex full of gangsters.

While Marc may have regained control at the conclusion of Moon Knight episode 2, let’s hope he allows Steven to escape in future episodes, carrying with him the new Mr. Knight mentality.
