Aimee Carrero (Elena of Avalor, Young & Hungry) has joined Searchlight’s The Menu as a cast member.
The movie is a grimly comic mental and emotional mystery directed by Mark Mylod set in the realm of quirky culinary society and centers on two lovers who enter an elite restaurant on a secluded island where a famed chef has arranged a sumptuous tasting menu.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Fiennes, John Leguizamo, Nicholas Hoult, and Hong Chau are among the previously revealed cast members.
Aimee Carrero, is a Puerto Rican/Dominican American actress based in Miami, with a vast list of TV and film credits. She’s featured in a variety of TV shows, including The Mentalist, The Americans, Level Up, and Young & Hungry. And, for the big screen, in The Last Witch Hunter, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Holidate, and, most lately, Wander Darkly.
She’s widely recognized for portraying Disney’s first Latina heroine Elena of Avalor in the Disney Channel cartoon show of the same title, as well as delivering She-Ra and the Princess of Power to reality on Netflix.
Aimee Carrero’s next projects include a continuing part in Netflix’s The Maid, which will premiere on Oct. 1, and an unnamed The Boys spin-off for Amazon Prime Video. Innovative Artists, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Skrzyniarz & Mallean are her managers.
