Michael Rispoli and Paloma Guzman, stars of The Deuce and The Sopranos, are expected to have regular appearances in Starz/Power Lionsgate’s new show, Power Book 3: Raising Kanan.
Power Book 3: Raising Kanan, from author and producer Sascha Penn, brings audiences to the 1990s and the formative years of the now-deceased Kanan Stark, played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in Courtney Kemp’s original series.
Sal Boselli, the strong and charming Italian mob leader of Newark, New Jersey, will be played by Rispoli.
Detective Regina Foyle, an experienced NYPD detective with a delicate but rough side, will be played by Guzman. In all the finest ways, she’s a paradox.
Kemp’s business End of Episode and Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television are executive producers on Power Book 3: Raising Kanan. Penn is the producer and creator of Raising Kanan. Mark Canton, via his Atmosphere Entertainment MM, Chris Selak and Danielle DeJesus of End of Episode, Shana Stein, Bart Wenrich, and Kevin Fox are also executive producers, with Rob Hardy executive producing and directing the debut episode. The show is produced by Lionsgate TV for Starz.
Rispoli starred in three seasons of HBO’s The Deuce and will soon be seen in a recurring role in Paramount+‘s The Offer. He also recently starred alongside Tom Holland in Apple+’s Cherry, a Russo Brothers film. Principal Entertainment and The Gersh Agency represent Rispoli.
Guzman, who is most known for playing Jacki Molina on Pretty Little Liars, has finished filming a big regular character on the new season of Roswell, New Mexico. Her past credits include a frequent appearance on HBO’s The Deuce’s last season, as well as appearances on Law & Order: SVU, FBI, and Shades of Blue. APA and Authentic Talent & Literary Management represent Guzman.
