A leak from the bonus features of “Avatar: The Way of Water” highlighted how Spider could breathe Pandora’s air and teased Kiri’s important role in “Avatar 3. Majority of the film’s principal photography was carried out simultaneously with that of “Avatar 2”, concluding in December 2020.
Also expected to return are most of the members of the main cast including Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and Zoe Saldaña, among many others besides the addition of stars new to the series – David Thewlis, Oona Chaplin, and Michelle Yeoh.
A lot is not known about the storyline of “Avatar 3,” but its title, “Avatar: The Seed Bearer,” suggests that it will focus on the restoration of the Tree of Souls on Pandora.
This is apparently in tune with James Cameron himself, who said the movie will be about the arrival of the tribe of fire, which is the darker side of the Na’vi, ruled by the chief Varang, to be played by Oona Chaplin.
Reshoots for the movie were announced by Sigourney Weaver for May 2023, something that shall be looking toward the fine-tuning of a few scenes while keeping that date with 2025 in mind.
