Cobie Smulders will reprise her MCU character as Maria Hill in Marvel’s Secret Invasion, alongside Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.
A group of shape-shifting Skrulls has been infiltrating Earth for years, according to the Disney+ crossover comic event. Marvel’s publicist declined to comment.
Ben Mendelsohn, reprising his role as Skrull Talos, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Christopher McDonald, and Killian Scott all feature in Secret Invasion.
Cobie Smulders has repeated the character in a number of Marvel films, including Spider-Man: Far From Home, Captain America: Civil War, and all of the Avengers films. Her performance as Ann Coulter in American Crime Story: Impeachment earned rave reviews recently.

When people achieve a certain degree of success, you almost expect them to change. With so much money and attention, it’s easy to fall into the pitfalls of arrogance and obnoxiousness. However, while there are lots of stuck-up celebs, there are also those who haven’t let fame go to their heads.
“Wealth and success don’t make you happy,” Leonardo DiCaprio once said. Perhaps as a result of this way of thinking, many people who work in the entertainment industry maintain a low-key lifestyle after their workday is done.
These people have succeeded in remaining grounded in an industry that tries to force them otherwise. They really understand what is truly important in life, whether it be giving money to charity, spending time with fans, or just being a good person. Millions of people from all over the world now love and appreciate them as a result. Here are 10 famous people who, when not in the spotlight, choose to lead quiet, modest lives.
#1 Angelina Jolie

Halle Berry is another celebrity who loves to live a simple life. She’s occasionally seen doing grocery shopping sans makeup and looking like an ordinary person.
Halle practices self-care and fitness to live a healthy lifestyle and inspire other women to do the same: “I got diagnosed with diabetes and I quickly learned that I could control my diabetes and live a longer, healthier life if I exercised regularly, changed my diet, and did some things in my life that are called de-stressors.”
#4 Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber chose to prioritize his family life over his career. “I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep-rooted issues that I have as most of us have so that I don’t fall apart so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be,” he wrote in an Instagram post. He tries to keep his promise and spends a lot of time with Hailey.
#5 Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton can fit as a royal role model for many young girls. Despite her high status, she lives a normal life. Kate will even buy a dress from Zara and wear it several times. She was also found flying in economy class. For example, she and her children were seen coming off a £73 economy flight to Scotland.
#6 Leonardo DiCaprio

From 2010 to 2016, Leonardo DiCaprio was on Forbes’ annual list of highest-paid actors. He seems to be able to buy gold toilets and a new mansion every month. Instead, he opts for a normal life. For example, he was seen giving instructions to a lost tourist on a rainy day in Manhattan.
Furthermore, DiCaprio understands the needs of the poor and gives his money to the world. His foundation will donate $3 million to Australia’s bushfire recovery efforts in 2020.
#7 Mariah Carey

Commuting by subway is something that all of us who have to go to work or school do daily. But singer Mariah Carey thought there was no reason for her not to participate as well. She also took the subway since she wanted to be a part of this experience. But, of course, she did it her way, always looking dazzling and dressed as if she were preparing to perform. Yes, she took the subway in a gala gown in New York City, and she even captured the moment with a humorous story that she then posted on Instagram.
#8 Reese Witherspoon

Despite her amazingly successful career, the lead actress of Legally Blonde (2001) may easily demonstrate that she is a normal caring mother. She used to take her children, Ava and Deacon, to the park and babysit them while they played on the playground, just like any other non-celebrity mom. They’d then have a picnic and a couple of delicious slices of pizza.
#9 Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley is a famous actress, environmentalist, and climate advocate. Her mother and she co-founded a non-profit organization that teaches young people empathy, compassion, and responsibility.
Woodley stays grounded and unspoiled. “I go outside whether I’m in the city or backwoods of any state. I connect with the ground, the trees, just breathing fresh air while I go for a walk and I find myself living in my heart instead of in my mind,” she says. Woodley prefers natural products and makeup and tries to live a natural life.
#10 Tobey Maguire

Tobey’s only acting role since 2014 was in 2017’s Boss Baby. He gave up his celebrity to pursue a career as a producer. He simply disappeared from Hollywood after Spider-Man. He prefers a quiet life with friends while raising his two children.

8 Non-Disney Cartoons That Promise Remarkable Live-Action Or CGI Remakes
Published
5 months agoon
December 30, 2022
We all are familiar with the live-action adaptation or CGI remakes of many Disney cartoons. Some notable names are Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, and the list goes on. Many animated films have regained the heat after the live-action or CGI versions hit theaters. Some mediocre cartoons even have a chance to reach the top rank if the remakes are successful. Of course, besides Disney productions, cartoons from other studios are also considered to be put on the big screen, and here are 8 of them.
Scroll down to see if your favorite one has its name on the list!
#1 The Last Unicorn (1982)
Source: Amazon Prime Video
Topcraft’s animation is the journey of the last eternal unicorn to find other members of her kind. The team of the unicorn, a bumbling magician, and a bandit’s wife sets off on a fascinating adventure and faces many dangers. On the way, the legendary creature learns many precious lessons about love and regret.
A weak point in the original version is the stiff and awkward character designs. However, it lays a strong foundation for a CGI mixed live-action remake.
#2 The Adventures of Mark Twain (1985)
Source: Peacock
Will Vinton introduced the enthralling works of the father of American literature to children through this stop-motion animation. The audience would follow Tom Sawyer and his friend to discover Mark Twain’s airship. They explored the place while watching and listening to Twain’s stories before they realized the ship was heading into Halley’s Comet.
As stop-motion has many limits, the film’s CGI remake seems to promise a much better version. The lively animation associated with the famous writer’s absorbing stories will make it a top-notch movie.
#3 Perfect Blue (1997)
Source: AMC+
Perfect Blue revolved around Mima Kirigoe, a J-pop idol-turned-actor. Mima intends to stick to her acting career, but a menace of a mysterious stalker and a series of peculiar murders around her mess up her plan.
This adult animated film could become a fascinating psychological thriller with an ideal cast as Mima and the right level of visual effects.
#4 We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story (1993)
Source: Apple TV
With the time machine, a scientist decides to gift the children of the 20th century in New York City with sentimental dinosaurs brought from their natural habitats.
We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story could be turned into a lovely live-action CGI hybrid film. Cinematic dinosaurs can’t be more real, and this lighthearted script will make dinosaurs’ images much better, at least compared to Jurassic Park. After all, people should be reminded that dinosaurs are more than monsters.
#5 Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland (1989)
Source: Amazon Prime Video
Little Nemo is upset since his parents are too busy to take him to the circus. That night, he meets members of the circus in his dream, and they introduce him to King Morpheus, ruler of Slumberland. When Nemo sees the king, he was offered an opportunity to rule the kingdom and protect it from the Nightmare King.
A dreamland like Slumberland is a perfect place for creativity, and innovative animators know how to make the best use of it. Looking at similar movies like Inside Out and Soul will make you certain about the success of this film’s CGI remake.
#6 Animal Farm (1954)
Source: imdb.com
The animated movie Animal Farm was adapted from George Orwell’s famous novel of the same name. The story is about an animal farm that represents the rise of the Soviet Union. Under the Old Major the boar’s leadership, the animals of Manor Farm chase away the farmer to gain independence. However, the utopia turns out a nightmare for the animals under the dominance of Major’s successors.
Andy Serkis is the director of the latest animated adaptation of the story. His talent combined with the assistance of CGI technology will likely guarantee a first-rate adaptation movie.
#7 Wizards (1977)
Source: Apple TV
Written by Ralph Bakshi, the movie feature the fight between two wizard brothers over the governance of a post-apocalyptic Earth. The malicious brother, Blackwolf, uses a projector with Nazi propaganda to provoke his troop. To stop his evil plan, Avatar, his brother, with some weird companions decide to confront him.
The action flick doesn’t leave much impression on the viewers due to its old-fashioned and cheap-looking animation. The battle could be more exciting and absorbing with more detailed character designs in the CGI remake.
#8 Cats Don’t Dance (1997)
Source: Apple TV
The young cat Danny is ambitious about becoming a renowned Hollywood actor. However, he gradually realized that animal actors only play cameo roles while humans take charge of all the main parts. Instead of giving up, he and his fellow actors are determined to prove their capability and get what they deserve.
Though the animation Cats Don’t Dance failed hard, the meaningful premise should be brought back to the screen. Having been successful with Space Jam: A New Legacy, Warner Brothers can definitely handle a new version with CGI models of Cats Don’t Dance.

12 Low-Budget Films That Made Eye-Popping Revenue at the Box Office
Published

Jessica
There’s no denying that movies are more costly than ever. It’s not rare for a production company to invest hundreds of millions ( even billions) in filmmaking. As long as you have the right actor, director, or intellectual property, you may be able to recoup your huge investment. But what about ambitious directors who can’t afford to make a film about your favorite superhero or cast any big-name actors? The independent market is for directors with a limited budget. Low investment, low return.
However, there are certain exceptions: when a low-budget film outperforms expectations. This unusual event can launch unknown actors to stardom and first-time directors to legends. You may be familiar with some breakout independent films, but you’d be shocked how many of your favorite films had a far lower budget than you expected.
To clarify, this list isn’t rated only by the lowest budget, but rather by how successful the films were given the budget they had to deal with. So, without further ado, here are 12 low-budget films that went on to become box office hits.
#1 A Nightmare on Elm Street
Source: © A Nightmare on Elm Street / New Line Cinema
- Budget: $1,800,000
- Box Office: $57,000,000
Before New Line Cinema agreed to produce the story of Freddy Krueger, which was rejected by many businesses. However, the studio had financial difficulties throughout filming. The cast and crew worked for two weeks without pay. The company was successful in attracting investors and achieving its first commercial success.
#2 Blue Valentine
Source: © Blue Valentine / The Weinstein Company
- Budget: $1,000,000
- Box Office: $16,600,000
Many years passed between the time the script was written and the film’s release. The director wanted to shoot the characters at different ages, but due to financial limitations, this was not possible. He also waived his fees to help finance the film. But it all paid off when the film became a smashing blockbuster.
#3 Boyhood
Source: © Boyhood / IFC Films
- Budget: $4,000,000
- Box Office: $57,300,000
It took 12 years to complete this film. The director updated the script every year, and the actors based their characters on real-life examples. The crew met 1-2 times every year for 3-4 days of filming. Despite the risks, the producers supported the extended production, which resulted in some extremely cool effects.
#4 Dirty Dancing
Source: © Dirty Dancing / Vestron Pictures
- Budget: $5,000,000
- Box Office: $214,600,000
It took a lot of effort to make this film. Companies turned down the script one by one, the budget was twice as low as average, and the film’s main actors all had conflicts. Even after the film was completed, no one liked it. Despite this, it became a film classic, grossing more than $200 million.
#5 Insidious
Source: © Insidious / Blumhouse Productions
- Budget: $1,500,000
- Box Office: $99,500,000
The creators of the Saw film franchise made this film. Again, a minimal budget did not prevent the crew from making a picture in three weeks and recouping expenses up to 66 times over, since the film grossed almost $100 million.
#6 Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
Source: © Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels / Sony Pictures Releasing
- Budget: $1,350,000
- Box Office: $28,100,000
This was Guy Ritchie’s debut full-length film, and it pushed him to global fame. The world also met Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones, who made their film debuts. Despite its low budget, the film received numerous honors and won the hearts of audiences.
#7 Moonlight
Source: © Moonlight / A24
- Budget: $1,500,000
- Box Office: $65,300,000
According to several sources, the film’s budget was $4 million. However, the director says that it was closer to 1.5 million. The shoot lasted 25 days, and none of the three actors who played the main character, Chiron, interacted with any other on set.
#8 One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Source: © One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest / United Artists
- Budget: $4,400,000
- Box Office: $163,250,000
Producers were skeptical about this sensational film’s theme. They declined to produce the film. Kirk Douglas, who owned the story’s rights, eventually sold them to his son, Michael. He was then able to find a producer and fund the production himself.
#9 Pulp Fiction
Source: © Pulp Fiction / Miramax Films
- Budget: $8,000,000
- Box Office: $213,900,000
At first, the film’s budget was significantly smaller. However, the participation of Bruce Willis in the cast helped drive the budget to $8 million. However, $5 million went to actor fees, leaving only $3 million for filming.
#10 Rocky
Source: © Rocky / United Artists
- Budget: $960,000
- Box Office: $225,000,000
Sylvester Stallone wrote the screenplay for the film in only 3.5 days. Due to a lack of funds for filming, the actor’s family members played minor roles. His sibling sang while his father rang the bell in the ring.
#11 Saw
Source: © Saw / Lions Gate Films
- Budget: $1,200,000
- Box Office: $103,096,345
Nobody could predict the amazing Saw franchise to be so successful. The majority of the actors were unknown, and the film was classified as independent. The bathroom was the only set built for the film, which was shot in only 18 days.
#12 The Terminator
Source: © The Terminator / Orion Pictures
- Budget: $6,400,000
- Box Office: $78,300,000
Director James Cameron got the inspiration for the Terminator character from a dream he had while sick. When the script was written, financing was limited. And Cameron was forced to sell it for $1 on the condition that he become the director. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger did not believe in the film’s success, and happily, he was wrong.
