Summary:
- CinemaCon 2024 unveils a sneak peek of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ showcasing Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson in a whirlwind of adventure and humor.
- The film promises action-packed humor and heart-wrenching moments, set for release on July 26, 2024.
The clip opens with Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, trying out a new gig as a car salesman, as hinted in the earlier teaser.
In this scene, Wade teams up with Peter, his buddy from Deadpool 2 and fellow X-Force member, played by Rob Delaney.
At work, Wade keeps his old Deadpool costume in his locker, dreaming of getting back into action with Peter someday.
In the clip, Peter throws Wade a surprise birthday party at his place, just like in the teaser.
The party includes many familiar faces from Wade’s past, like Vanessa, Dopinder, and more.
Reflecting on his journey, Wade says, “It’s been tough lately, but I feel incredibly lucky.”
And as for Deadpool and Vanessa, they’re now just friends.
Just as Wade finishes blowing out his candles, the party gets crashed by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) from Loki‘s universe. And in walks, Mr. Paradox, played by Matthew Macfadyen from Succession.
Instead of scolding Wade for his time-travel antics, Mr. Paradox invites him to join forces with the TVA. He tells Wade that he’s meant for something big, hinting at the need for action in the “sacred timeline,” possibly leading to Avengers: Secret Wars.
“Mr. Wilson, you’re special,” Mr. Paradox assures Wade.
Deadpool receives a sleek new suit from the TVA, complete with adamantium swords, the same metal that enhanced Wolverine‘s claws in Hugh Jackman’s portrayal.
In a classic moment of breaking the fourth wall, Deadpool charges toward the camera, headbutts it, grabs a mic from off-screen, and shouts, “Screw you, Fox! I’m going to Disneyland!” as Fergie’s “Glamorous” sets the scene for his strut.
The next scene features Deadpool and Wolverine chilling in a car, where Deadpool teases Wolverine about his yellow suit. Later, a heartbreaking moment unfolds as Thor is shown mourning over Deadpool’s lifeless body.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” hits theaters on July 26, 2024!
