Mayor of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner and produced by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, has been renewed for a second season by Paramount+.
Given that Mayor of Kingstown is the young streamer’s second-highest-watched original series behind Yellowstone prequel 1883 and is set in the Taylor Sheridan world — the company’s most major creative power – the renewal is predictable.
Last year, Sheridan informed about the second season of Mayor of Kingstown, which is part of his cabal of projects that includes Yellowstone, its prequel 1883, the Sylvester Stallone-led Kansas City, Bass Reeves, Land Man, and Lioness.
Mayor of Kingstown’s plot
The McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the sole booming industry, is followed by the Mayor of Kingstown. The series, which tackles issues including systematic racism, corruption, and inequality, takes a hard look at their efforts to restore order and justice to a community that lacks both.
