The upcoming Marvel Studios film “The Fantastic Four” just got even more fantastic with the addition of Natasha Lyonne!

The Emmy-nominated actress joins a cast that’s already bursting with talent. Pedro Pascal will portray Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby takes on Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn will suit up as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will be Ben Grimm (The Thing). Additionally, Julia Garner is rumored to play Silver Surfer, with Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Ralph Ineson also on board for undisclosed roles.

Matt Shakman, who directed the acclaimed “WandaVision” series, will be at the helm of “Fantastic Four.” The script comes from a team of writers including Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Filming is expected to begin this summer, with a target release date of July 25, 2025.

Marvel Studios is staying tight-lipped about plot details and the specific character Lyonne will portray.

Lyonne is coming off a wave of success. Her performance in Rian Johnson‘s “Poker Face,” which she also produces, garnered critical acclaim and award nominations across the board, including Emmys, Golden Globes, and Peabody Awards. The series has been greenlit for a second season, with Lyonne returning to write, direct, produce, and star.

Prior to “Poker Face,” Lyonne co-created and starred in the critically acclaimed Netflix series “Russian Doll,” which earned her three Emmy wins and 14 nominations, including for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She has also directed and written on the show, showcasing her multifaceted talents.

In addition to acting and producing, Lyonne’s production company, Animal Pictures, recently signed a first-look deal with Sister. They also produced the well-received Netflix comedy special “Jacqueline Novak: Get On Your Knees,” directed by Lyonne herself.

Lyonne recently wrapped filming on Taika Waititi‘s adaptation of “Klara and the Sun,” starring alongside Amy Adams and Jenna Ortega. She also has a role in the upcoming film “His Three Daughters” with Elizabeth Olsen and Carrie Coon, and will lend her voice to a character in the new Paramount “Smurfs” movie.

With her impressive acting range and experience behind the camera, Natasha Lyonne is sure to be a valuable asset to the “Fantastic Four” team. Fans eagerly await the unveiling of her character and the film’s premiere in 2025.
