When Ryan Reynolds first met Hugh Jackman, he was a bundle of nerves. Now 47, Ryan recently worked with the 55-year-old actor in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Reflecting on their friendship, Ryan took to social media to praise Hugh, calling him the most “thoughtful, kind, and classy” person he knows in the entertainment industry.
In a post on X, Ryan wrote: “I met him in Sydney around 2007. Back then he was already a movie star and I walked onto the set as a supporting actor. Showing up midway through production isn’t too different from starting a new school.
I was a nervous mess. Film sets can have a scary imbalance of power and I remember seeing how he treated every member of the crew with genuine respect and appreciation. He made a case that the term “filmmaker” isn’t just for people with their names on the poster.
“I don’t know anyone more thoughtful, kind, and classy than this man. He’ll do anything for someone he loves. He’ll do anything for someone he just met.
“In Deadpool and Wolverine Hugh didn’t just make dreams come true for fans of Wolverine. He made MY dreams come true too. He is THE X-Man.

In July, Hugh Jackman opened up about the excitement he felt in getting back into shape for his role in Deadpool and Wolverine.
The Hollywood star, known for his portrayal of Wolverine, took on the challenge of transforming his physique once again for the Marvel movie. Hugh admitted that, about ten years ago, he had reached a point where the physical demands of the role were no longer enjoyable.
“It was painful and tough, and I wasn’t having fun anymore,” he told PEOPLE. However, after taking a break from the intense workout routine and focusing on dance and stage performances, Hugh found himself revitalized.
He shared that returning to the role of Wolverine felt refreshing and exciting, and he was genuinely thrilled to be back in action.
“But I’ve had a break, and I’ve been doing a lot of dance. I’ve been doing stage shows and arena shows. And so when I came back to it, it was really fun and I was thrilled,” he said.
