Originally announced in October 2018, the news was officially confirmed by Prime Video just ahead of this month’s Upfronts. The new series, titled “Sausage Party: Foodtopia,” promises to stay true to its roots, with many of the original team members returning.

The original movie concluded with a jaw-droppingly explicit scene that pushed the boundaries of animated film content, leaving audiences both shocked and amused.
The announcement of the series has elicited a wide range of reactions, from excitement over Seth Rogen‘s continued involvement to apprehension about the show’s wild and outrageous premise.
Returning to voice their original characters are Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, and Edward Norton.
They will be joined by newcomers Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell, and Yassir Lester, adding fresh voices to the mix.
“Sausage Party: Foodtopia” is under the helm of executive producers Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter, who also acted as showrunners and co-writers of the original film.
Conrad Vernon, who co-directed the feature, is back to direct the series. The project is also supported by Annapurna Television’s Megan Ellison, Patrick Chu, and Andrew Millstein in executive production roles.
