On October 27th of this year, Elon Musk finally closed the deal and became the owner of the social network company Twitter. After spending some time attempting to back out of the agreement, the 51-year-old businessman, who serves as the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, took over the website with $44 billion. After that, Elon Musk reshuffled the leadership team of this social network, by firing Vijaya Gadde, the legal, public policy and trust, and safety lead at Twitter. Two other senior leaders of Twitter, CEO Parag Agrawal and CFO Ned Segal, also immediately resigned because they did not want to work under Elon Musk.
Then, Elon Musk appointed himself to the position of CEO and took control of the company. The “old” Twitter homepage would request that those who were logged out or not signed in do so to be able to see any content. The new change allows people who are not Twitter users to see news and posts without being logged in or having to set up an account. A few more changes were also made when Twitter’s “Super Follows” subscription, which allows users to access additional paid content, was changed to “Subscriptions”.
However, an impulsive person like Elon Musk taking over Twitter makes many people feel uncomfortable. Many celebrities with thousands of followers have decided to give up this platform. In addition, many other Twitter users are also considering closing their accounts.
