The actor’s love for creating, according to 4WWL, inspired him to invest in a studio. He’s worked on several projects, including The Banker and Outside The Wire.
According to The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate, Mackie’s studio will assist Louisiana in growing its film and television business by providing chances for intellectual property purchases, development, production, and marketing.
Oliver Thomas, a member of the City Council, explained how the studio will benefit the city. “Years ago, we talked about us being Hollywood South. I think maybe we’re finally in a position to make it happen and for New Orleans East to be the foundation for that to happen,” Thomas added. To have Captain America and his brand and his star power I think it helps to support all the other investments.
