According to insiders, Anthony Mackie has signed an agreement to play Captain America 4 and will handle the shield for the first time.
Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige maintains the contents of the film under secret, and it’s unclear whether Sebastian Stan, who co-starred with Mackie in the well-received Marvel Studios Disney+ short series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will be involved.
This is Mackie’s vehicle, according to the unofficial title, and it’s a watershed point in his work for the Juilliard-educated performer, who is now a highlight in every picture he’s featured in. His roles as Falcon, Captain America’s wingman who was selected by that superhero to follow him, include the Best Picture winner The Hurt Locker, 8 Mile, and The Banker. His struggle to assume the heroic character was explored in the series. Starting with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Mackie portrayed Falcon in six Marvel flicks.
Malcolm Spellman, the lead writer and author of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and tv show staff writer Dalan Musson are collaborating on the screenplay for Captain America 4. This isn’t the top-secret development that may bring Chris Evans back into the picture. Mackie’s picture has yet to be assigned a director.
