As Marvel gears up to introduce its First Family to the MCU in Phase 6, excitement builds with the revelation that “The Fantastic Four” reboot will commence filming this year. Following the announcement of the primary heroes’ casting, the buzz intensified with news that Galactus will serve as the central antagonist in the film, perhaps alongside Doctor Doom, Reed Richards’ arch-enemy.

Shortly after John Malkovich was announced for the film, The Hollywood Reporter disclosed that Ineson is on board to portray the cosmic menace, Galactus. While Marvel Studios hasn’t officially commented on the casting yet, Ineson took to Twitter/X to express his enthusiasm, writing, “Actual Marvel Villain, get in!”
Joining Ineson in the cast are Pedro Pascal as the brilliant Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the fiery Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Julia Garner joins as a female version of Silver Surfer, with Paul Walter Hauser cast in an undisclosed role, very possibly Victor Von Doom.
Introduced by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in “Fantastic Four #48” in March 1966, Galactus is one of the most iconic and powerful villains in Marvel lore, known for his colossal size and the endless thirst to consume every planet out there with his power.
His upcoming appearance in “The Fantastic Four” marks only his second live-action portrayal, the first being the widely criticized cosmic cloud version in 2007’s “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.” Hopefully, the MCU version of the villain will stick to his comic outlook.
MCU’s iteration of The Fantastic Four will hit theaters on July 25, 2025, and filming is expected to kick off later this year. As anticipation for The Fantastic Four builds, fans are eager to see how Ineson will embody one of Earth-616’s most daunting villains.
