The trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home leaves a lot to hint about the multiverse mayhem to come while also promoting a lot of questions unresolved. It all started when Peter regret what happened at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Peter’s identity as Spider-Man was revealed. His life turned into chaos, and he has to find a way out of this mess. Luckily, Dr. Strange is there to offer solutions. There are a few shock returns in the trailer, some of which are more visible than others. Here’s all you need to know about Spider-Man: No Way Home’s epic trailer.
#1 Far From Home Sequel
At the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the identity of Spider-Man is revealed. Although Peter’s freedom means he won’t be punished for Mysterio’s crimes anytime soon, the world’s perception of Spidey has been tainted anyway.
#2 Shades Of Maguire and Dunst
The sight of Peter and MJ on a rooftop reminds us of Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst in Spider-Man 3 resting in a web staring up at the stars.
#3 The investigation
J. Jonah Jameson’s major scoop is being investigated by the authorities, and Peter is compelled to defend himself in an official investigation.
#4 Midtown chaos
Peter Parker’s life has been extremely stressful since Spider-Man: Far From Home mid-credits, the trailer shows him walking into Midtown High through a throng of protesters who aren’t exactly on board with the “friendly neighborhood” bit of Spider-Man.
#5 A Far From Home Deleted Scene
Peter and MJ are poised on a bridge surrounded by choppers in Spider-Man: No Way Home, reflecting the original artwork from a deleted scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
#6 Dr. Strange Connection
Peter is pondering how to solve his not-so-secret identity dilemma when he notices a vampire lamp with a wizard’s hat and beard and realizes that Dr.Strange may be the right man for the job.
#7 Peter called him: Stephen
It’s an amusing interaction, it shows the same kind of vibe that we used to see between Tony and Peter. Hence it validates the fact that Dr. Strange might take on Tony Stark’s fatherly role.
#8 Spider-Man’s Black Suit
The outfit’s function is unknown (though it appears to have been designed with Doctor Strange’s help), and this scene provides no further information.
#9 Peter’s Plan
What good is having a wizard buddy if they can’t occasionally alter reality for you? Peter Parker believes his life has been turned upside down since his true identity was discovered, and he wants Doctor Strange to help him repair the damage.
#10 Multiverse Revealed
Two familiar MCU imagery appear in the trailer. Loki’s He Who Remains has a purple-ish outer space aspect. And the whooshing rainbow, which has previously been used to signify multiverse travel by both Doctor Strange and Loki.
#11 Chasing on a train
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange tries to capture Spider-Man by manipulating a train roof, demonstrating that two Avenger partners are in disagreement.
#12 A mysterious box
Doctor Strange uses astral projection to knock Peter’s spirit out of his corporeal body, much as the Ancient One did to him back in the day. This is most likely part of their chasing.
#13 Electro vs. Sandman
The yellow lightning could be coming from Electro. And another Spider-Man movie villain could be lurking in this sequence. Electro attacks a massive wall of dust probably created by Sandman.
#14 The Green Goblin Bomb
Though the Green Goblin does not appear in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, his presence is confirmed by an ominous pumpkin bomb. The bomb’s design is pretty much identical to Willem Dafoe’s weapons in the original 2002 Spider-Man
#15 Alfred Molina Is Doctor Octopus
The trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home does show Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus in all his magnificence. The outfit and arms are identical to those shown in Spider-Man, and the “Hello, Peter” remark demonstrates that Doc Ock is familiar with the man beneath the costume.
