Summary:
- Marvel insider Alex Perez suggested that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine might team up in Secret Wars.
- Fans are excited, but Perez stressed the importance of making their appearance meaningful, not just a brief cameo.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues its journey through the Multiverse, bringing back fan-favorite characters.
While some appearances, like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, received mixed reactions, others, such as Spider-Man: No Way Home and the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, have been massive successes.
Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine are now officially part of the MCU, and fans are speculating about their future appearances, especially with rumors of a possible team-up.
During the September AMA on The Cosmic Circus Discord, industry insider Alex Perez touched on the idea of these two iconic heroes crossing paths in the MCU.
“Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is probably going to be every Marvel fan’s fantasy going into Secret Wars,” Perez said.
He also explained that Marvel is working hard to make this happen, but they want it to be meaningful, just like other fan-favorite moments in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Perez highlighted how Secret Wars, with its massive multiverse crossover, could bring in almost every Marvel character, but there’s a challenge.
“They’re doing everything in their power to make this interaction and more legacy character interactions a reality, but it has to be something meaningful… not just some throwaway sequence,” he said.
Perez’s comment seems to reference the less impactful character appearances in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where some fans felt the cameos lacked depth.
Additionally, Perez answered several other questions during the AMA about upcoming Marvel projects. For example, he discussed Agatha All Along, the WandaVision spin-off, where fans are curious about Ralph Bohner’s short role and the fate of other witches from the show.
While Perez kept some spoilers to himself, he confirmed Ralph Bohner would have a brief appearance, and teased that the direction for the witches would unfold later down the line.
With so many characters rumored for Secret Wars, it’s unclear how much screen time each will get. But one thing is certain: fans are eager to see Spider-Man and Wolverine join forces, and Perez’s comments have only fueled their excitement.
