Matthew Vaughn, director of the original “Kick-Ass” movies, returns with a new trilogy rebooting the franchise.
As reported by Variety, the second film in the trilogy, titled “The Stuntman,” is currently in production.

“We’re halfway through it,” he revealed. “There’s a very, very, dare I say it… and pardon the cliché from my end. It’s a highly meta-universe. It’s essentially what Kick-Ass initially set out to achieve: reinventing and pioneering an R-rated superhero concept when no one else was.
“This takes that entire premise to an even more deserving level—more of an evolution than a sequel because I believe it’s an entirely new approach to Kick-Ass, which couldn’t be more true to its essence,” Vaughn elaborated via CBR.
As for “The Stuntman,” its release date is still unknown (2024 or 2025).
